REPUTED DISCOVERER MISSING. BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Sept. 12. The Daily Chronicle’s Rome correspondent says: Professor Martinof failed to answer a Government summons to appear and produce the 107 lost volumes of Livy which he claims to have found. Friends says he is hiding, working secretly on a translation, and will appear to-morrow. Police searched the professor’s house, but found no trace of the volumes.
