Standnrc nnished two and a half lengths ahead f)t the chestnut, and altogether the colt gave a very fine showing. Oije of the most gallop* r the morning was that participated in by three good handicap horses: Comical (R. Reed). Musketoon CVV V an i’ ? nd diamond Ring. They jumped off from the mile post, and from the outset the pace was a cracker. Betore they had gone half a mile Diamond King began to lose ground, and although she was almost up with the others at the straight entrance, she was eased in the rim home, and Oomifinished half a length in front of Musketoon, with Diamond Ring five 'emo-ths back. The time for the'eight furlongs was lmin 46sec.
Vaudeville (T. Bound) and The 1 horn (\Y. Rayner) finished on terms at the end of a. two- furlong sprint in 25 3-osec.
Empyrean (T. Bound) went seven furlongs in lmin 36 l-ssec. Siaosi (R. Reed) was sent o,ver half a mile, which took 53sec. Explorer, Te Talii, and Velociform were associated in a round of the schooling hurdles. The two latter finished
' within a length of each other, w Explorer a few lengths back. Fool’s Paradise, Sky Blue, and two-year-old Black Cat were cumminii ever a smart half-mile, the first t finishing together, with the youngs fiemg eased over the last hit. T 1 ran the half-mile in 50 4-ssecs. Waetea finished three lengths ah< of Importer over six furlongs, and v doing it easily in Imin. 20 4-ssees. Quiescent, Quest and Slump were s< six furlongs, which they covered in min. 19 2-ssecs. While riding the' filly Adavale to the course yesterday morning, the stable lad B. Nixon received severe njuries to a leg through the two-year-old becoming startldd and swerving.
