The general meeting of the gymkhana and tug-of-war committees, which is to be held in the Manaia Domain in aid of the town carnival queen on Wednesday , September 24, and the tug-of-war in the evening, was held last evening, = when there was a large attendance. Mr. W. Duggan presided. The following officials were appointed for . the horse jumping events : Messrs. A. Mitchell, C. Patterson and C. Jones. The following events were approved: Maiden open and wire jumping and pony jumping events. Good prizes of gold medals to the value of £2 2s are to be given for the horse events. The judges will be Messrs. W. Melville and W. Pine. For the car events driving competition the officials are Messrs. A. Sagar and Chairman; also decorated cars and bike Miss Elma Judd and Mr. Sagar. For the bike and running events the following officials were appointed: Messrs. A. J. Hansen. Jas. O’Dea. J. Russell, C. Burke. W. McDonald, J. Christie. J. Patterson, W. Opae, S. Jones, G; Sfieipherispn, L. Hughes, L Landers, W. Bradford T Wyilsh. J. Mills, Ware Rei. jas, Hickey. Official time-keeper, Mr. W. Slattery. -Judges- for, the -running and cycle - events : Messrs A H Christie, J. S. McKay, and E'. Long, •?enr/ Gate-keepers, Messrs, R. Frank‘!,ll’ M - Lowe, W. Sutton, L. Hughes and T. VL McDonald and G: Stephenson/ Timekeeper Mr. A. J. Hansen. It was decided that three minute pulls be out according to the Amateur Athletic Association rules Protest rommittee: Messrs. C.
