PEKIN, Sept. 6. A communique issued by General Her claims that Chekiang has been completely routed. General Kiangsu, who is at Hwangtu, 15 miles from Shanghai, and has advanced 6 miles, also claims that, two entire companies of the crack Sixth Devision, personally commanded by Chi, have been captured with all their equipment.
TOKIO, Sept. 6. Four destroyers have been ordered to Amoy for the protection of Formosan residents, whom it is reported the Chinese soldiers’ are ill-treating.
