TOBACCO DUTY.
PROPOSED REDUCTION. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. - ) WELLINGTON, Aug. 5. The Minister of Customs states that in the event of a reduction of the tobacco duties being agreed to by the House it will not operate without, say, three months’ notice. This is to enable present stocks to be cleared off and allow the alteration to he made with as little inconvenience as possible.
