VAGRANCY.
WAN AND WIFE CHARGED. (by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION A WELLINGTON,' Aug. 4. A man, James Ward, and his wife, with a child aged eighteen months, appeared before the court charged with vagrancy. It was stated that the pair were found in a deserted house at night lying on sacks. The pair had parted some time ago and met on Friday evening. Ward was denied admittance to the house where his wife was living, so they spent part of the night in an unoccupied house, where they were discovered. The pair were remanded and the child was committed to a. receiving home.
