POPULAR NIGHT WEDDING,

HENDERSON—BENNIE. An exceedingly popular wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Kaponga, bv the Rev. Moore, oil the 28th inst., when Beatrice Marion, sehond daughter of Mrs and the late Mr J. B. Bennie, was married to Harley Hector Henderson, also of Kaponga. The gathering of friends in attendance to' extend felicitations to the happy couple, proved too numerous to receive accommodation in the church, a large number being unable to gain admittance. Additional interest was attached to the ceremony as it was the first night wedding to be held in Kaponga. The bride, who was given awav by her uncle, Mr J. W. Snowden, of” Manaia, was beautifully gowned in a gold and blue shot taffeta dress made in the Victorian style, the veil being of gold tulle' fastened with a wreath of golden leaves. She carried a sheaf of arum lillies. She was attended by her sister. Miss Bennie, as bridesmaid, whose charming dress of apricot taffeta, in similar style, was in tasteful harmony with the bride’s gown. A becoming wreath of silver ferns adorned her hair, and. she carried a dainty bouquet of spring flowers and maidenhair fern. The bride’s mother -yvas handsomely attired in black satin and georgette. The bridegroom was supported by Mr J. Henderson, of Normanby, as best man. Miss Evans presided at the organ.

After the ceremony a party of friends and relatives were received at the residence of the bride’s mother, the customary list of toasts being honoured. Later, amid showers of confetti, good luck wishes and cheers, Miami Mis Henderson were esc-orted to their car and departed on their honeymoon, which will include an extended tour of the Hawke’s Bay district. The bride’s going away dress was a smart grey marocain coat frock with lavender hat and bag. *
