ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
INJURY TO AN EYE. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CARTERTON, July 15. youth named Jack Farfeita, aged 1/, was out shooting with a party on Sunday. A companion fired at a rabbit, and the pellets struck a stone and ncoehetted. One entered the eye of the lad, and he was brought to a doctor, who sent him to a specialist, in W ellington on Monday. It- is feared that he will lose the eye. Farfeita was on a holiday from Eketahuna and was staying with friends. DIED IN HOSPITAL. AUCKLAND, July 15. Charles Edward Couzens,* who fell down the hold of the steamer Tofua on Wednesday and sustained severe injuries to his head and chest, died in hospital last night.
