PLUNKET SOCIETY.

. — MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Piunket Society w'ash eld in the Piunket rooms on Friday. Present: Mesdames Goodsun (chair), Graves, Davy, Campbell, Jobson, Mureh, Haggett, Burdekin, Goodwin, Hunter, AYinks, and Misses Corrigan and King (secretary). Apologies were received from Mesdames Fovster and Haw'ken.

It was, decided to send a remit to the general conference, w'hich is to be held in Wellington during the first week of oepteniber, asking for a subsidy on all money raised during the year by the committee for the Piunket Society. Miss Corrigan and Miss King were asked to attend the conference. Nurse’s report was read and adopted: New cases mothers and babies 57 mothers and babies to office 649, nurse’s visits to homes 327. The balance-sheet of the AVinter Showeffort was then read and adopted. The committee were very pleased with the splendid results: TotaL proceeds from hoop-la were £9l 16s 7d, total proceeds from bran tubs £l6 15s 9d, collection at show grounds gates £22 14s 74d, proceeds from sale of surplus stock 9s donation 2s 6d, paid into bank (less 6d exchange) £l3l 17s Hid. The thanks ot the committee are due to all who so wil lngly gave gifts and time, thus making the effort so successful, and-to the secretary and directors of the Alinter Show for their courtesy in again giving the Piunket Society , space for then- rest room and hoop-la and bran tubs. Ihe expenses of the AVinter Show effort w'ere £24 4s 9d. The children’s fancy dress ball was discussed. It was decided to hold it in the second week of September, Mesdames AArinks, Hunter, Goodwin and rnu onat,n K prizes for the same, the following subscriptions w'ere ?S ,d ;, Mrs Bonc £1 ’ Mrs A - Young £1 Mrs F. J Hilton 10s 6d, Mesdames G. J Baylcy, Bernard, Thwaites, Hunter 10s each, Mesdames McGregor. AV. Stewart, Parker, M. Gibson, H. Finlay, Hurley, Sutherland, Fades, Pursei, Dowling, Pease, Godfrev Raw’son Hunter 5s each. ‘ ’
