MURDER TRIAL
TWO BROTHERS CHARGED. SHORT OF ArONEY. BY CABLE—PEUSS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT ROAIE, July 13. A remarkable murder trial, in which two young brothers named Cogo were charged with murdering their aunt, Carolina Cogo, and a housemaid, Rita Bordon, has concluded. Agustino Cogo was sentenced to thirty years’ imprisonment and his brother was acquitted. Agostino confessed that he was solely responsible for the crime the motiVe of which was money. He chloroformed both victims before strangling them.
It was alleged that the accused, who were students, were short of money, and believed they wouldhenefit under the will of their wealthy aunt. They broke into her house and strangled, her. Having also killed the housemaid, Bordon, it is said that they propped the corpses on chairs and liedeeked them with the aunt’s jewels. A servant girl made the tragic discovery and informed the police, and the arrests followed.
