(From Our Own Correspondent.) PLTJNKET SOCIETY: t The monthly meeting of the Plunket Society was held on Tuesday. Present : Mesdames Hawken (chair), Dravton. Wanklyn, Foord, Bridge?-, Ha den Harrison, Crump, Ware. Campbell. Picard, Carson. "Walsh, Barv, Stewart and Weir. Apologies received from Mesdames McDonald, Best. Eountaine, and Wood. The president explained ' that the meeting was called a week earlier than usual in order to renort progress of ‘ ‘Spotting” Competition and to distribute tickets amongst the committee mem hers, . \ Nurse reported: New cases 10. Visits paid to rooms—Adults 90. babies 92; total 182. \ jsits paid to homes 35. A letter was received Iron? Nurse Baker explaining that visits to homes wcj-c less this month owing to lie?' having no car for three weeks. Ail account lor Os for repairs to car " i|s discussed, and the seorotarv was instructed to write to Stratford and enquire if the Kltliam branch was responsible foi- payment, as repairs had been done here. Donations; Mj’s Crump £1 Is. Mr Cliinery os. New members; Mrs Jl. Rowe and Mis Harrison. Arrangements, were made foi- a cake stall to be held in the town on the final day of the competition, each member of committee to' canvass a street for cakes. It was proposed bv Mi-s Dravton 'and seconded by Mrs Barv. that boxes for receiving completed tickets should he placed in Mr Bridger’s shop and .Air Ware’s mart now. and that on the day of the cake stall a box should he placed on the stall and another in the Plunket Rooms. A vote of thanks was passed to Airs Eountaine for her offer of a cake for guessing compett-ion.
