South Africa match.—Reuter. RIFLE SHOOTING. COLONIAL AAIAIUNITION COMPANY’S TROPHY. Last year the Colonial Ammunition Company forwarded to the president of the local Rifle Club a match barrel for competition among members of the Manaia, Meremere, Alanutahi, and Hawera Rifle Clubs. The conditions of the competition were fixed at two handicap shoots of seven shots each over ranges 300, 500 and 600 yards, and the highest three scorers from each club to meet in a final shoot on the Alanutahi range. The handicaps for the final shoot have been declared by the well-known rifleman, Mr D. Roots, of Patea, and the shoot has been arranged for Saturday afternoon next, the 14th inst. The local club will be represented in this shoot bv President A. G. Robertson and Riflemen A. Elgar and L. C. Harrison.
The following are the scores obtained by some of the local members in the urst two rounds of the competition :
