A sensational accident took place at Mort's dock. While the steamer Ivatoomba was being docked the tackle collapsed and she slipped from the cradle. A. large number of dock hands were thrown into the water. Two named Nelson and Gallagher were drowned, and two others named Morley and Keningbough were injured. The others swam ashore. The steamer backed right across the bay and narrowly escaped running into several ferry steamees moored on the opposite side.
