WRECK OF THE FITZROY.
LATER PARTICULARS. (Per Press Association.—Copyright.) Sydney, Dec. 11. A heavy sea was running when the Fitzroy grounded. The passengers and crew remainded on board till daylight, and were brought ashore in boats, some in their nightdresses. The passengers behaved splendidly. The steamer lies broadside on with a heavy list to starboard. There is every probability she will become a total wreck. The ill-fated Fitzroy was under the command of Captain Grahi. She left Sydney on Friday night for Brisbane. The weather was very dirty. After striking, the vessel remained upright for an hour, then heeled over to the starboard, gunwale and all boats on that side being smashed. ,The- seas were breaking clean over me v. After some difficulty the female? got on deck and sheltered in the captain\-j room. They were terribly distressed, and suffered greatly from cold.
