THE BARONETCY OF DEROS.
♦ AN ADELAIDE GARDENER SUCCEEDS TO THE TITLE. (Per Press Association. < 'opyriyht.) Adelaide, Oct. 20. A man named FitzGerald, employed as a gardener, has received a cable announcing his succession to the Baronetcy of Deros by the death of a cousin. The baronetcy is the oldest in England, though not a very rich one. FitzGerald is a near relative of the Duke of Leinster and a cousin of the Marquis of Dufferin. When he came of age he inherited £85,000, which was quickly spent in horse racing and other effective ways. As a captain in the Royal Irish Rifles he served in Bechuanaland under Sir Charles Warren, and came to the colonies two years ago destitute.
