Mitt-hell, the well-known auctioneer, was drowned this morning while crossing the Wyndham river on horseback. The stream Avas in flood. The body has not been recovered. Napier, This day. A swagger named Alfred Taylor, aged about 50, died suddenly at Whakatu yesterday afternoon. The medical evidence showed deceased suffered from kidney complaint, and a verdict of death from natural causes was returned. This morning John Cooper, temporarily employed as boatswain on the steamer Kahu Avas found dead in a convenience on board the A'essc!. He had been ailing for some days from an internal complaint but Avas able to Avork right up to the time of death. Deceased leaves a Avidow and four or five children residing in Wellington.
