THE TROUBLE IN INDIA.
A MOHMAND STRONGHOLD DESTROYED. ( Per Press Association.— L'ojti/rii/ltt.) Calcutta, Oct. 5. On Sunday last Colonel Jeffrey's brigade attacked a, strongly fortified place in Mob man d the forts and carried the Mights, the column retiring to camp. A great number of tribesmen surrounded the position under perfect cover and poured a heavy fire upon the brigade. The number of casualties on the part of the British, however, is nut serious.
