Parliamentary Notes.
+ # [By Telegraph.] [By our Special Reporter.] Wellington, This day. Mr Ward arrived by the Monowai this morning and will attend the Liberal caucus. When the House met this afternoon Mr Seddon gave notice to set up a committee of privileges to deal with the Awarua election. He intended to confer with Captain Russell re the personnel of the committee. Mr Ward could take the oath, but till the committee reported he would take no part in the proceedings of the House. Captain Russell said the course proposed was the best one out of the difficulty. It was an extremely unpleasant position. He understood from the Premier that the committee would sit before Mr Ward took the oath. The Premier explained that he wanted to consult Captain Russell as to the names of the committee and the order of reference, and as the law now stood Mr Ward could not be prevented from taking the oath.
