Lord Elgin, Viceroy of India, has seriously remonstrated with the Ameer in connection with the assistance given by the Afghans to the Mohammedans in the recent attack upon the Uriu-it forces at especially directing attention to the action of Gholam Hyder Khan in countenancing the disaffected moliahs. Itinerant moliahs, referring to the Turkish successes in the Gr.-T-co-Tur-kish war, predict the millenium of Islamism. Twenty-five thousand Indian troops are being concentrated on the Afghan frontier.
