A large force of Afghan* have joined the Mahommedans m the attack on Shabkadar, and no attempt has been made by the officials to restrain theni. Cholom Hyder Khan, GovernorGeneral on the Afghan frontier, has been in constant communication with the mo!lab leader. The Pesbawur garrison has been reinforced. Constantinople, August 12. The Sultan has despatched an envoy to India with the object of stirring up strife there among the Mahommedans.
