EUROPEAN AND FOREIGN. (Per Press Association.— Copyriyht.) London, July 2G. The Xert Zealand Shipping Company has ordered two large steamers for the produce trade. Mr Seddon, as a result of inquiries, states that the shipping companies intend to reduce the dairy produce freights, placing them on a similar level to the meat freights. Mr Seddon bade farewell to Sir George Grey, who charged him with a loving message for the New Zealanders. Mr Seddon intends to consult his Cabinet with reference to granting a larger subsidy to the man lines with a view to greater speed. Paris, July 26. The convention has been settled between France and Germany delimiting possession in Hinterland of Dahomey and Tozorano, West Africa. France retains the province of Gurma and Germany obtains Sausamme and the Mango district. Washington, July 26. Japan has agreed to submit the difficulty which has arisen in Hawaii over the landing of Japanese immigrants to arbitration. Mr Whitelaw Reid, one of the American representatives at the Queen's Jubilee, says his visit has greatly impressed upon him the strong desiie of the English people to be on good terms with America.
