GENERAL ITEMS. (Per Press Assoc la turn •(. *•) Melboukxe, July 22. During the seven months the Credit Foncier scheme has been in operation over £296,000 has been advanced to 584 persons. With a view to retaining work, a great part of which now goes to Sydney in consequence of the lower scale of charges there, the Victorian Government has considerably reduced the graving dock charges.
