Sir John Forrest promised a deputation of the Western Australian section of the London Chamber of Commerce that Parliament would settle the question of mining tenure so as to prevent the jumping of claims. lie also promised that the Government would legislate with a view to improving the pastoral industry. He added that he desired to obtain only the lowest railway freights.
