THE RECORD REIGN.
+ THE JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS. (Per Press Assnciation. —Copyright.) London, June 24. The dinners to the poor of the slums of London, promoted by the Princess of Wales, towards which the Australian pastoralists subscribed a large quantity of meat, were given yesterday, over 800,000 being entertained. The Prince and Princess of Wales visited the various centres where food was being distributed, and everywhere the recipients expressed gratification and gave cheers for the Queen. Special prayers were held in the temples and mosques throughout India in commemoration of the Jubilee. The Queen has commanded that a special Jubilee medal be issued to all colonial troops who took part in the celebrations, aud they will be presented to them by the Prince of Wales on July 3rd. In the House of Commons the Right Hon J. Chamberlain stated that there would not be time for tbe Australasian troops to visit the large provincial towns, though he felt confident they would be warmly received.
