Wellington, This day,

James Hobbs, a patient of the lunatic asylum, was found drowned in the harbor this morning.

Auckland, June 18

Edward Breakwell, who committed suicide, had his life insured for £3OO, and had recently purchased the house in which he resided. Mrs Breakwell said she knew no cause for her husband's act. A juryman stated that he had heard Breakwell had backed a bill for a friend which had been dishonored. Mrs Breakwell said she had heard nothing of that.

Mr J. D. Pinker ton was crossing Lambton Quay, Wellington, near the Bank of New Zealand 011 Tuesday when he was run into by a bicyclist and thrown violently to the ground. He was taken home and attended by his medical adviser, when it was found that he had broken one of hL wrists and a rib.—N.Z. Times.

Owing to a fall of some distance from a bannister, a litlle son of Mr B. M. Litchfield, one of the inspectors of the Bank of New Zealand, Wellington, sustained a slight concussion of the brain on Wednesday night.
