(Per Press Association.—Copyright.)

Sydney, June 11

Island news states that earthquake shocks were reported from one of the New Hebrides Group at the end of April, followed on May 12th by two loud reports resembling the discharge of heavy guns, and large quantities of black, muddy water and stones were thrown up at intervals of from 10 to 30 feet, accompanied" by sheets of white vapour.

The scene of the disturbance, which was in active operation on May 26th, is in the vicinity of Tevalla Island, towards the western extremity of Laska. The sea was discolored for miles.
