The Queen, through the Right Hon. J. Chamberlain, has wired her sineerest sympathy to Sir William Shenton, President of the West Australian Legislative Council, upon the death of his wife. Shooting at the Glasgow rifle meeting Mr Fargbar (Melbourne Rifle Club), tied with 18 others who made the highest possible score at 500 yards in the Stock Exchange prize competition. June 11. Captain Durley H. Alexander, adjutant of the 3rd Volunteer battalion of the West Yorkshire regimeut, has been appointed aide-de-camp to the Earl of Ranfurly. Paris, June 10.
