Pctherick is preparing a paper to read before the Geographical Society which will go to &ho\v that Australia was discovered in the fifteenth century and that a kangaroo was presented to Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain in 1493. Paris, March 25. In the Chamber of Deputies, Prince Ilenry of Orleans made a violent attack on the British policy in Egypt. Pretoria, March 24. Dr Leyds, late Secretary of State, succeeds M. Peelaerts van Blokland as Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary at the Court of Berlin and The Hague. M. Blckland is described as having domineered the Dutch Government, llis successor will pay an annual visit to the Transvaal.
