Desperate fighting has taken place in Crete, and 4000 Christians are marching on Canea.
The Porte has notified the Powers that unless they restore order troops will be sent to assist the Turkish Envoy to quell the rising. The Continental bourses are agitated in consequence of the sei'ious state of affairs.

The Greek Hot ilia has arrived at Crete. The Powers will not permit the landing of troops. The Powers have not decided on a final mode to enforce the decision of the Porte, who is not sending troops to Crete at present. Constantinople, Feb. 18.
The Porte has informed the Embassies that it will maintain a passive attitude with regard to Crete pending the efforts of the Powers to restrain Greece. If the Powers do not succeed the Porte will take military measures on the frontiers of Greece. St Petersburg, Feb. 13. The Russian Mediterranean ileet has been ordered to Crete. Athens, Feb. 14.
A report from C'auea states that 800 Moslems were killed at Sitia, while '2OO Christians had taken refuge at a monastery, at Suba Bay. The Christians are attacking Canea, and the Government has asked the Commanders of Foreign warships to occupy the town and protect the Moslems.
The commanders have cabled to their respective countries for orders.
