THE PLAGUE IN INDIA.
(/ 'if I 'rests Awiciulion. —L opijriijht.) Paris, Jan. 20. Owing to the plague the transit of Indian goods has been prohibited in France and Algeria. Calcutta, Jan. 21. Professor Haffkine is reported to have discovered a vaccine which acts as a protection against bubonic plague. In consequence of the spread of the plague in India the authorities at Malta have prohibited all vessels from India calling at that port. A similar interdict is placed iqjon steamers from Australia which have called at Aden.
