(Per Press Association * 'ojo/i i : //tt.)

Calcutta, Jan. 15. The bubonic plague has now reached Poomh, in the Bombay district. A meeting of Europeans and natives of Calcutta carried a resolution approving of the Government scheme of relief in the famine infested districts. Lord Elgin, Viceroy, said the occasion was without a parallel, and appeals for help were being received from all direction.s A national aid scheme was essential. Reports from Bombay show that the plague continues to rage, with great virulence and the population was half depleted by flight, and commerce was paralyzed. The Moselem cemeteries were over crowded.
