Smith is announced as a Progressive Liberal candidate to oppose Mr Buchanan for Wairarapa. • At a meeting of the Liberal and Labor Political Council of Canterbury a ballot of candidates resulted : Christchureh : Messrs G. Smith, T. E. Taylor, and G. W. Ell. Avon: Mr W. Tanner. Lyttelton : Mr J. Joyce. Biccarton : Mr G. W. Bussell.
