The Coming Elections.

THE NEW BOUNDARIES. MORE CANDIDATES. SIR MAURICE O'RORKE LIKELY TO RETIRE. [By Telegraph.] (From our Special Correspondent.) Wellington, This day. The work of the Representation Commissioners with regard to the objections lodged has resulted in the boundaries of most of the Middle Island electorates north of Ashburton being readjusted. The most material change is in respect of Wairau, which practically retains its southern boundary, and loses the town of Havelock and the country west of the Wakarnarina River. This should practically ensure Mr Buick's return. The name Waikouaiti is to be retained for the Port Chalmers seat. Mr Mason, chairman of the local County Council will be the Opposition candidate for Marsden, and Mr Buckland will stand in the same interest for Onehunga. It is reported that Speaker O'Rorke will not seek re-election. Later. The Representation Commissioners have finished their sittings, and the new electoral boundaries are now finally settled. The more important alterations made are as follows : Nelson has been added to by taking from Wairau ihe whole of the country west of Wakamarina and the town of Havelock, but loses a small slice at the north-west corner of the electorate, which goes in Motueka. Avon is materially altered, the Waimakiriri river being made the boundary, and the portion of the proposed Riccarton seat between Papanui and the river Styx being included within it. The Chalmers electorate has been renamed Waikouaiti ; but with this exception, there is no alteration south of Ashburton in the South Island. Very slight and practically unimportant alterations have been made in the North Island boundaries. Mr McKenzie, the present member for Buller, has definatly decided to contest the Motueka seat at the general election. MrE. O'Connor will also be a candidate for that seat. Mr O'Regan, the present member for Inangah.ua, and Mr Jas. Colvin are out for Buller.
