Senator Sagasta urges that the Spanish operations against the insurgents in Cuba should he carried on with greater vigor in order to show that Spain has no fear of American interference. A manifesto has been scattered broadcast over Darcelonia calling a meeting to prevent Cuban reinforcements embarking. The conspiracy is alleged to be fomented by Cubans in the Phillipines to obtain autonomy. Numerous arrests have been effected in connection with the movement at the Phillipine Club in Madrid.
