A Trotting Dispute.
IN THE SUPREME COURT. [By Telegraph] [Special to Standard.] Wellington, This Day. In the Supreme Court yesterday, J. D. Craig, Upper Hutt, sued the stewards of the Wellington Trotting Club for £2OO damages for wrongful disqualification of himself and his trotting horse, Ned Kelly, winner of the Trotting Club Handicap at Marimar on Anniversary day. The horse was disqualified on the grounds of inconsistent running. Mr Skerrett, for the defence, objected to the case proceeding on the grounds that the statement of claim did not disclose any cause of action, unless for prize money, from which he was debarred from recovering. Leave was given to amend the claim on terms, and the case was adjourned until next sitting.
