MURDER AT POMAHAKA.
AN ARREST MADE. [By Telegraph] [Special, to Standard.] Dlnemn, July 5. In February last a woman named Mat-on, 40 years of age, mysteriously disappeared at Pomahaka. Her husband was engaged rabbiting, and the couple had been separated for some time, the woman having taken out a maintenance order. The woman proceeded to the place a few days later. Her clothes were subsequently found in a bundle in the river, but all search for the body failed. The husband on being questioned said on coming home from work lie found his wife going away with all her tilings. The body of the woman lias now been found tied up in a sack, which shows that there has been foul play. As soon as the police get to the locality some arrests will be made. July G. In connection with the murder case Charles Matscn, husband of the murdered woman, has been arrested at Eankleburn by sis policeman. Matson was living in a hut with a young woman aged 18.
