AGAINST YORKSHIRE. WIN FOR THE AUSTRALIANS. London*, July 1. There was a good attendance at the last day's play. The Australians' second innings closed for 251 (Jones, not out 19), making a grand total of 475 runs. liaigh took eight wickets for 78, and Jackson two for 46. The Yorkshire team failed in the task set thein, the last wicket falling with the score at 190. The Australians thus won by 1-10 runs. The principal contributors to the score were : TunniclitTe ... ... 59 Denton... ... ... 24 Jackson ... ... 22 Hirst 20 Lord Hawke ... ... 18 Haigh ... ... ... 13 Jones took four wickets for 40 runs, Trumble two for 42, M'Kibbin two for 49, and Trott one for 15. AGAINST NORTH OF ENGLAND. London, July 2. Some of the Yorkshiremen were unable to take part in the match to be played at Manchester to-day, and the team chosen is therefore not up to the full strength. The following will play :—Briggs, Mold, Lugg. Baker, and Ward', for Lancashire; Attewell and Jones for Notts ; Bainbridge, Lilley, and Quaiffe, for Warwick; Pougher for Leicestershire.
