THE STATE OF MATABLELAND THE WHOLE COUNTRY RISING RELIEF ANXIOUSLY AWAITING Cape Town, .June 24. Three prospectors have reached Fort Salisbury in an exhausted -late, after being chased by Matabeles for 18 boors. The native prophet Olemo has been killed. June 25. Officials ot Fort Salisbury report that the whole country round has i-isen and relief is anxiously awaited. Many whites have been murdered including nine members of the Ayreshire Patrol. Fifty thousand rounds of MartiniHenry ammunition are in store at Marindella. Fort Charter has also been surrounded. The natives have seized all the cattle they can secure, killing the herd boys. The Cape Government has offered to assist in the transport of ammunition, men, and supplies, Colonel Plummer's patrol had an engagement with the enemy, in which the latter lost SO men. The patol burned 208 kraals, and recaptured 700 cattle.
