THE CHARTERED COMPANY OPENS THE COUNTRY. DEAD-LOCK AT PRETORIA. Capetown, June 5. Mr Cecil Rhodes expresses the opinion that the railway to Buluwayo will be completed within two years. Mr Rhodes anticipates that the railway to Palapyi will be finished within the year, fie declares that the char ter of the South African Company will continue until the time is ripe for autonomy being granted to the country north of the Zambesi, which is considered to be the most valuable portion. He adds that for five years he advised freetrade and federal defence with the Cape, Rhodesia retaining its independence. Pretoria, June 6. The conflict among the members of the Transvaal Executive respecting the sentences passed on the leaders of the Reform Committee continues, and in consequence the final decision has been postponed until Thursday.
