Salvation Army Meeting.

It is now twelve months sines ths Salvation Army officers landed in Gisborne, and during that period the amount of good wrought through their labours has Been manifestly great. On Tuesday night, to celebrate and make a joyous occasion of their first anniversary, and to welcome the newly-appointed officers, the Army organized a 11 Monster Tea.” Willing hands were at work early in the afternoon preparing for the everting, and at six o'clock a start was made to partake of the moat successful tea ever held in Gisborne. After tea a meeting took place. Staff-Captain Lovelock delivered the opening address, and was followed by liisa Smith whose words Wert listened to with the attention they deserved. Mr Turton followed next With ail appeal to the audience td witness ths good work fhS Army had accomplished in this town. Idisi Oruickshank sang a hymn, her sweet voice seeming to soothe the turbulent spirit that “ the boys at the back " had previously manifested. A stirring address was then delivered by Miss Barnard, her earnest manner and choice expression having a good effect.
