Fvbtheb particulars of the outrage perpetrated upon Mr White, farmer at the Papakura valley, show that there was a dispute between him and Halliwell, the owner of the farm, when .five Germans sprang out of an ambush on the farm, and seised White, bound him and carried him into his own stockyard, where they threw him down into the filth, mud, and slush, and kept him there for some six hours, till about half past nine, meanwhile being guarded.by two of the meu, who relieved each other every half hour. At half past nine one of the Germans cut his bonds but he was so numbed and exhausted from the wet and cold that he could scarcely move; his arms were lacerated, and he was in a terrible plight generally. They then proceeded to enter the house, ransack it, and put the furniture outside, leaving the house empty. After they had completed their work they unbound White and left. Assistance arrived in the shape of a number of farmers, who were roused to great indignation and wanted to go on a chase for the offenders and take vengeance then and there, but they Were dissuaded from this by White, who said he would take a legal remedy.
