Waerenga-a-hika Jockey Club.

Thu Annual meeting of the Above club was held yesterday afternoon at the Masonic Hotel. A number of subscribers were present, Mr Dufaur occupying the chair. The minutes 0! the last annual meeting wore read and confirmed. The Secretary, Mr Nasmith, read the annual report .and balance sheet. The balance sheet showed a loss of £23 18s on the year's racing, The Committee attribute this to the depression coupled with the bad weather which preceded the May meeting. Again, the amount given as prize money was increased, whilst according to the rules the Club raced under, the amount to be received from nominees was decreased The balance sheet shows a bank debit of 19a sd, but monies owing (since received) more than cover this, and the Club still holds fixed deposit to tha amount of £125, The total amount paid away In prize money during the year was £564 18s 7d, being £343 14s 104 for the December meeting, and £221 3s 9d for the May meeting.—The report and balance sheet were adopted. The following officers were electedPreaidant, Mr G. L. Sunderland; Vice-President, Mr J. Maynard; Committee, Messrs Scott, Dufaur, Cooper, Hepburn, Stevenson, Black, and Colebrook; Auditor, Mr J. Nolan. Messrs 0. D- Bennett and P. Breingan were nominated for the position of handicapper. Four votes were given for Mr Breingan and five votes for Mr Bennett, the latter gentleman.being therefore elected. Mr Evett was also nominated, but the nomination was not seconded.

A vote of thanks to the Chair was passed unanimously and the meeting; terminated.
