CANTERBURY V. NAPIEB, NAPIEB WINS BY THREE POINTS. The following account of the Napier match is taken from the Evening Nowi:— As was anticipated yesterday the weather was beautifully fine—all that could be desired in fact, and there was very little wind blowing during the afternoon. Long before 2 o’clock people begap to" roll down to the Recreation Ground, and by the time the ball waa kicked off there was a splendid attendance. On the visitors entering the ground the Hawke’s Bay men gathered round and gave them three hearty cheers. The following are the teams: — Hawke’s Bay : „B. LeQuesne (full back), Warbrick, Percy, McCausland, (three-quarter hacks); Gibbons and Tairoa, (halves) - Robson, Jamieson, Stewart, Trotter, Saunders, Patterson, Verity, Morrison, and F. Kennedy (forwards). Canterbury : W-. Eiehards (full back) : ■W’.jAHardype. E. L.. Francis, and H. Wilson, (three-quarter backs) ; Mountfort, and Donnelly, (halves) ; H. J. Beswick, W.* Bean, Blanchard, J. Harris, J. Horner, W. Moir, W. Sutherland, H. Huddleston, and Torlesse.

The Canterbury men took the top goal and kicked against the wind. Messrs Roberts .and Potts acted as umpires, and Mr "Logan as referee. The forwards came in for a lot'bf wdrk, and then, Taia, roa getting /hold of the ball made a capital run, and secured a try amidst the loud applause of the spectators.
