Waimata Road Board,

The Waimata Boad Board met on Tuesday. Mr O'Ryan forwarded two plans for a footway on the Taruheru Bridge, one at £9O and the other at £62. The former was approved, and it was resolved to forward the plan and estimate to the Borough Council for ap* proval. The Board will contribute one fourth of the cost, provided it does not exceed £2s.—As to the Valley Lane contract it was considered that the specifications had not been adhered to, and the Board decided to offer the contractor £4O 16s as the final payment on the contract. —Notice is to be given to the contractors of the Riverside Road that a penalty will be enforced for undue delay.—lt was resolved to pay £2O on the Waimata West contract, £8 being retained for the completion of the work.—lt was resolved to leave over the question of metalling the streets in North Gisborne until the negotiations with the County and Borough Councils and Mr Banker are completed. — Accounts totaling £72 were authorised.—Several other minor matters were transacted.
