Rough on the J.P.
Dunedin, July 28. During the hearing of a case at the Police Court to-day it was urged in defence of the prisoner that he could not be convioted, as he was possessed of money. Mr Logan who was on the Bench, cited a case from California where a man having 500 dollars was convicted. Counsel for the prisoner said if that was held to be law Mr Logan could be convioted, as be had done no work for ten years. The case was dis mused.
