PAPER MILL WORKER CRUSHED FATALLY BY TWO-TON ROLL
P.A. INVERCARGILL, Nov. 23. Fatal injuries were suffered to-day by an employee of the Mataura Paper Mill, when a roll of paper, weighing nearly two tons, slipped while being lifted by an electric hoist and crushed him. He ‘was Colin Frederick McDonald, aged. 45, a machinist. a married man with a family. McDonald, who served in World War Two, lived at Mataura. Injuries to his chest and head caused his death soon after his admission to the Gore Hospital.
