WATAROA, November 21. At the Wataroa School Gommitee meeting, matters concerning tne activities of the committee were dealt with, including the visit of the King and Queen to Greymouth, in March next. It was hoped to send most of the children to the function. It was agreed to hold the'children s call club fixture on December 1, when a local judge will be in attendance to judge all stock entered for the show. The gorse cutter, which commenced operations here, is doing a good i°The suggestion from the Health Department to the Charitable Aid Board at Hokitika for a casualty ward at Wataroa is a good one and should be supported by all concerned. This project is overdue. Mr Kettle, of the Fig Marketing Association, stationed at Harihari, is visiting Wataroa fortnightly. The visit of Bishop Lyons was concluded on Sunday, when confirmation was given to ai number of people. The Bishop expressed pleasure at being in South Westland for a week. Accompanying the Bishop were Rev. Dr. Harrison, and Rev. Father O’Gorman, Parish Priest. Heveldt Brothers were visitors to Wataroa from Hokitika during the week-end. „ , Mr Tom Barron, of Hokitika was a visitor to Wataroa and. South Westland during the week. I Dr Hunt who has been resident doctor for ’nine months, is leaving at the end of the month for his home in Southbridge, Canterbury. Applications are being called by the Health Department for another doctor for South Westland.
