GOLF AUCKLAND PRO. WINS AT DUNEDIN

P.A. DUNEDIN, Nov. 14. Returning an outstanding card of 70 —three under par—A. J. Murray, of Auckland, professional golf champion of New Zealand, headed the field in the North British-Slazenger tournament played over 72 holes at St. Clair course during the week-end. Murray’s aggregate for 72 holes was 289, his rounds being 74, 72, 73 and 70. A large gallery watched A. _J. Shaw, who was third on the list with 299; and T. W. Wight (Dunedin professional) this afternoon. In the amateur section of the tournament, B. M. Silk, of Wanganui, carded a gross 292 for 72 holes, including two 72’s. He was twenty strokes ahead of C. B. Wight, the Dunedin amateur. Professional aggregate gross scores were: A. J Murray (Auckland) 74, 72, 73, 70—289: A. E. Guy (Auckland) 73, 72, 77, 73—295; A. J. Lindsay (Invercargill), scored an easy win in the 27-hole Amateur Golf Tournament, conducted by the Invercargill Golf Club at Otatara ciuring the week-end. The runner-up was A. R. Kitto (Wanganui), whose total of 309 was made up or rounds of 75, 76, 82, and 76.
