CRICKET UNITED HAVE EASY WIN OVER RUNANGA

In the main attraction at the Recreation Ground yesterday, United scored an outright win over the Runanga team by innings and 48 runs. United declared with two wickets down for 202. R. Donaldson put up a line score of 92, and appeared to plav with the Runanga bowlers. He was unlucky not to have passed the century. By his performance Donaldson has proved himself a first class batsman, and he will no doubt catch the selectors’ eye when the representative team is being chosen this season. L. Coffey (30), Marshall (36 not out), and Thorburn (32 not out) were the next best batsmen for United. Bowling for Runanga, Webb took two wickets for 54. Runanga, in their first innings, scored 116. Roberts, who made 48, was by far the best batsman. He remained calm in_the £ace of fast and tricky bowling by Lindley. Adlam and Lawson. Henderson, who made 25, and Anderson, 12', were the only other batsmen to reach double figures. Bowling for United, Lawson took two for 24, Lindley five for 48, and Adlam three for 10. Runanga were, all out for-38 in their second innings. Bowling for United, Spender took four for eight, Lawson two for 15, Lindley two for four, Hendry one for seven, Donaldson one for six.
