British Steel Production Board

LONDON, November 11. The British Iron and Steel Federation announced that steel production in October reached an annual rate of 15,455,000 tons, which is the highest ever attained. The President of the Iron and Steel Federaton, Sir Ellis .Hunter, described the plans for nationalisation of steel as “grevlous prejudice.” He said this criticism applied not only to the iron and steel output and development, but also to the trades which served the industry. This is th e fh’st authoritative statement from the industry since the terms of the Iron and Steel 81l were made known.
